This year we made a lot of progress providing an important service to our membership (and Nevada voters) to ensure you are informed this election cycle. The Libertarian Party of Nevada (LPNevada) leadership and the Endorsement Committee accomplished this by meeting, interviewing, speaking with and researching as many candidates as resources and time allowed.

The main goals of our 2014 Libertarian Voter Guide were to determine which candidates were most aligned with Libertarian ideals and principles, their willingness to work with us, and who had the courage to participate at our events. Each year we want to improve on our voter guide and our goal will be to publish a complete guide throughout Nevada.

LPNevada takes a "Common Sense Approach" to politics. Most people agree with our positions but are not familiar with the Libertarian Party, or have been misinformed about what Libertarians really believe. Libertarians typically agree with about 30% - 40% of Democrat positions, 30% - 40% of Republican positions and have some of our own ideas. If you live in Nevada, Northern or Southern, you are probably a Libertarian and just don't know it! 73% of Americans agree with the majority of Libertarian Positions on important issues.

The Libertarian Party has NOT changed our position on Issues since the Party was founded in 1971. Additionally, we do what we say and we say what we mean, unlike the other major Parties and politicians who say they feel one way on Issues and vote the opposite.

We are truly, the Party of the People and it's time to hold our politicians accountable!

03 October 2014 In Activism

On Wednesday, October 1st, representatives of the Libertarian Party of Nevada, Chairman Brett H. Pojunis, Vice Chairman and County Commission F Candidate Jason G. Smith, and Outreach Director Jason Weinman attended the Las Vegas City Council Meeting to speak out against the use of over $115 Million of taxpayer money to finance a private soccer stadium in downtown Las Vegas. Amongst the sea of brightly colored union shirts and special interests there to speak in favor of using precious resources for this stadium were three stalwart individuals with nothing to do but battle with their wits, Libertarian lapel pins, and the knowledge that taking from working people to give to special interests is wrong.
